本年度學科活動

  1. Intra-School Art Competitions and Activities

a. Broadening horizons and enhancing confidence through carnival performances

To broaden students' artistic horizons, expose them to different cultural arts, and enrich their creative experiences, the undergraduate program collaborates each year with various major art institutions. This year, it participated in the large-scale art event in Hong Kong—"Standard Chartered Arts Carnival 2024." On the day of the parade, students enthusiastically greeted onlookers in the bustling streets of Causeway Bay while wearing self-made London-themed costumes—Big Ben. Everyone was joyful and excited. This event not only helped students gain significant artistic knowledge and skills but also taught them the importance of collaboration, perseverance, and courage. It is believed that this "unique learning experience" will become a cherished memory in their growth journey, providing them with a comprehensive learning experience beyond the classroom.

b. Diverse Arts Platforms and Activities, Connecting Communities, Showcasing Infinite Potential

To enhance students' confidence and creativity, the undergraduate program offers a variety of artistic activities, competitions, and performance opportunities that allow them to showcase their talents and increase their chances of success, thereby boosting their sense of achievement. This year, the "Little Artists" program partnered with the elderly community in Tai Kok Tsui to explore the neighborhood, conducting "Sound Missions" on five streets named after trees. The public and community arts project "Echoes in the Woods: Student Workshop" will create a public art installation at the Ewa Street Rest Garden and host a shared concert, inviting everyone to come together and enjoy performances in this new public space.

Additionally, this year, students participated in the creation of artworks for the interactive exhibition "Happy Birthday 2U2" by artist Itoh Hiko. The exhibition was held in Australia (Lower Level 2, New South Wales Gallery), allowing students' works to reach an international audience.

c. Keeping up with technology, optimizing multimedia teaching resources, and enhancing students’ self-directed learning

With the advancement of information technology and the internet, the undergraduate program has integrated tablet drawing applications (Sketchbook, FlipaClip) and supplemental electronic teaching programs (Nearpod, Padlet) into the school-based visual arts curriculum. Additionally, to nurture students with higher potential, specialized electronic courses have been designed for the visual arts elite group, offering a deeper and broader curriculum than the regular courses, thereby expanding students' creative perspectives.

d.Ongoing teacher art training about new art forms, to keep up with new teaching strategies

In order to effectively enhance teachers' various creative teaching strategies and their preparation for art activities, there are regular teachers’ workshops and seminars each year to broaden teachers' knowledge and understanding of art and media, thereby improving visual arts lesson qualities.
